Hello Bloggers...

Well, here goes nothin'! After prompting and prodding from several friends, I have entered the world of blogging. My motivation is to keep in touch with friends. Reading blogs this week has been so fun. And made me miss old friends.

I admit a feel a bit vain--writing about me, myself, and I--assuming that anyone will read it! One friend told me to think of it as journaling...with lots of readers...I think I could use some good journaling time.

Life is crazy--Jenn graduated in May with her nursing degree, passed her boards in July, and is a nurse in the Family Birthing Unit at Marion General Hospital. She is a great nurse and is enjoying her job very much. We have 5 kids, yep, 5. Liam is 9 1/2 and in 4th grade. He loves to "invent" things. He plays baseball and is in tae kwon do. He likes to sing and is a great kid--a big help with his little sibs. Eily Rae is 8 and in the 3rd grade. She is quite dramatic, creative, and quckly leaving the "little girl" stage. She has a great sense of humor and is also a big help around the house. Brea is 5 and just started Kindergarten. She is a little "mommy"--she loves to cook and clean and boss people around! She is energetic and bright. Kian is 3 1/2 and in pre-school. He is all boy--wild and crazy--and lately quite funny. He like to wrestle, ride bike, get tickled and giggle. Mera is our baby, and she just turned 2. She is in the nursery class at pre-school. She is already potty-trained, so for the first time in about 9 years--NO DIAPERS! She talks a mile a minute and has a full head of blonde curly hair. We all adore her.

I am the Children's Pastor at Mt Olive Church in Marion, and completely love my job and all of it's challenges. I love kids, their families, and helping them make Jesus number one in their lives. I hope to start my Masters Degree soon in Family and Children's Ministry from Bethel Seminary in Minneapolis, MN. (It is a program I can do from home--with a couple trips a year to MN--which is fine with me, that's where my family is!)

We bought a house last May in Converse and are loving it. It is a little different living in town, although it is small, lots of neighbors and our house seems to be the hang-out for all the neighborhood kids--which really is fine with us. The house is huge--5 bedrooms. Lots of space. We love it. Lots of small projects to work on--paint, wallpaper, etc. It is going very slowly, but that is OK. Those things are really minor.

Jenn is just getting home froma 12 hour shift, so I need to go. I'll write more soon, I guess!

  • Jeremy,

Welcome to the blogosphere! Watch out - if you're anything like the rest of us, you'll get sucked in ...

Bethel Seminary, eh? EXCELLENT school (several of our staff are Bethel grads or are attending right now). Hope you'll swing through Blaine for a visit ... we'd certainly love to see you!

  • Oh how I love Jeremy!!! (Can ya hear me singing it??) I have tried in vain the last couple of days to get your site up with no success until today. It's true, it breaks my heart when I think of how long it's been since we've all been together. Wondering if you think a little get together Fri. or Sat. of Homecoming would be workable? Elijah positively LOVED hanging out with Liam. We love you and miss you and want pictures!!!!

  • Can I just give a personal testimony that Jenn is wonderful nurse...especially with a scared mom-to-be who is being induced. You better be working if we have another baby, Jenn.

I have heard great thing about your children's minstry too, Jeremy. :)

  • The blogging world is now complete with you, Jerome. Now, I want PICTURES. Lots and lots of pictures. C'mon, it's not hard. And how in the heck do you people handle 5 children while your wife works 12 hour shifts???? I can't handle 3 and I don't work outside the home!!

Give my love to your delightful wife. I can still hear her say "sleep yet?" and singing the Canadian national anthem at the top of her lungs at odd moments. Ask her if she remembers Barbie and the speakers under our cabin at the last camp and how I FLIPPED. Good times.

    I'll be back.
